Indian Penal Code, 1860 Chapter III – Of Punishments

The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of the IPC Code.

Under the law, penalty is given to discontinue the criminal from committing the crime once more.

Punishment is a repercussion or outcome of an incorrect committed by an individual.

Provisions for penalty are provided under section 53 as well as Chapter III of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The section specifies various kinds of punishments to which the offenders are responsible under the Indian Penal Code.

The punishments offered under section 53 use only to offences given under this IPC Code.
